Iran’s clerical body is reportedly moving closer to choosing a successor to the current Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following his demise in recent air strikes in the country, with members of the body charged with choosing Iran’s highest authority indicating that a majority consensus on a candidate has largely been reached.
